Fifty Percent

One constant is that Madeleine is super competitive with me. If I want her to practice piano, run, draw, or do anything that requires effort, she'll muster up the strength if she knows that she's competing against me.

After three years of piano, her teacher gave her Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals to learn. It's her first real piece. I told her she's about 50% of where my piano skills here are now. It's just a number but for her - what does it mean?

"I like piano," she told me. She grinned.
