Alter-blog

Another problem is that I'm personally associated with this blog. My photo is staring at me on the top left corner, and I've linked to it from too many social networks where employers, old bosses and acquaintances would know. I've noticed that my thoughts have been unconsciously sanitized recently.

So I've been thinking: what to do with this blog? Keep it or toss it? It's not really a personal blog (I think some of my thoughts may scare the kiddies) -- and it's not really a professional blog. Basically it doesn't have focus. And I hate blogs that just recounts what someone did that day.

And keeping a blog for friends doesn't make sense to me. If I'm friends with you, then I'd much rather keep ya updated over wine or a telephone call (or dare I say, gchat).

I'd like to have a blog just about my interest -- something in-depth.  A scathing scatological scattered bitchfest about our sorry state of political affairs (conspiracy theories heavily weighted)? Or reactions to developments in technology? Or breakdowns of bad pop music via music theory (although I would shoot my brains out after listening to yet another pop-tart wailing to the Cmaj-Amin-Fmaj-Gmaj chord structure -- extra points if they innovate and add G7 instead). Edit: Terese suggests a 'real look' at Vietnamese food. Which kind of makes sense, considering the NY Times just did a piece on great Vietnamese food in Oklahoma. Oklahoma?? Are they kidding? Are they just trying to be clever? It's about time someone cut through the BS.

But I guess as with all things I do, I'm not focused enough to make enough of a point. Sure, I could do something in jest and have a little fun with it. And my interests are diverse enough where I still feel like I can learn a lot from others, about traveling, politics, technology, economics, photography -- whatever, that setting up a focused blog on these things seems like of silly.

I may just keep this blog for random reviews, thoughts and what not.  I'm toying with the idea of an anonymous blog where I can go crazy and create fiction based on real life. I love memoirs anyways, and this could be a good project. Sort of like an alter (and more hyper-realized) ego.

Don't quit blogging!

No I don't think I will, but most likely an additional blog that allows a different side to be free...
