Anger

You know what I get most angry about? When my anger is at peak?  When I realize that the world has too much, way too much, hypocrisy and arrogance.

Arrogance -- the ignorance brought on by ego.
Hypocrisy – the failure of an arrogant ego.

Both are rooted in an evil overcompensation of the ego by righteousness.

So, in my various feeds today, I see two examples for arrogance and hypocrisy.

1. Neoconservatives turn against Bush.  Whether they are saving their own skin or lambasting the foolish, myopic and arrogant policy of this knuckle-headed administration... a vipers' nest, if you ask me.

2. The head of the US Evangelical Association is outed to have had a 3 year relationship with a gay escort.  Add to that the spector of drug use.  This pastor is an outspoken opponent of gay marriage, among other 'ungodly' things.

Two more examples of why I guard my conscience with reason when confronted by espousals of righteousness.

As my youth group leader once said (the same one who I found to have an extra-marital relationship), "Everyone falls short of the glory of God."  To which I now reply, "Yeah, everyone does, so stop preaching, brother."
