B Cup (B is for Brazil)
Yikes. Seems like they were waiting for the streets to empty before doing this shot and I just stepped right into the frame.
It's not unusual that you run into a television or film crew on the streets of New York. Sometimes, even when you stand still, you run into them – like me today. I hopped outside of my usual cafe spot (B-Cup) to cool down when I saw a gorgeous blonde girl walking straight towards me. That's weird, I thought to myself. Usually a person dressed like that (high riding boots, long coat, runway clothes) is found around the meatpacking or West Village area, not in Alphabet city. I was going to talk to her but then she started to speak in a lilt-singsong language.
Italian, I thought – followed by, why is she talking to me. She walked passed me and still was talking to herself. I turned around and looked across the street. Sure enough, crouching next to the trash can and flanked by a clipboard wielding guy was a camera man taking in the shot. The blonde sung some more and entered the cafe. Clip board guy was frantically waving at me to get out of the shot. Blonde girl walked back out an across the street and stood with her hands on her hips.
Yikes. Seems like they were waiting for the streets to empty before doing this shot and I just stepped right into the frame.
At least they were friendly (except for hot girl). I said I'd tell people I know in Brazil to watch the show – documentary about NY – to cheer them up. On the record, I don't know anyone in Brazil anymore.. but it's just like a guy telling a girl that he'll call them back. It's lame but a necessary part of BS etiquette.
