Damn you H5N1!

Ok that's it.  I wasn't mad when the bird flu hit Vietnam bad.  I wasn't mad when it spread through Asia, the starting point of my trip.  I wasn't mad when it hit Turkey, then Egypt, two must-see destinations.  But this is the last straw.  It has spread to France, and some countries have already  "suspended imports of French poultry, including the delicacy foie gras, meat and other internal organs..."

Merde!  This stupid virus is now threatening the foie gras heartland, the epicentre of the greatest delicacy in the world!  It's a clash of epic proportions!  The human need to fine dining, man's struggle against brutish nature, his struggle to eat well and live or not live at all!

So - damn you H5N1 for taking away one of my favorite delicacies!
