Google Homepage
I really like what Google is doing with their personalized homepage. It makes sense. They're trying to turn into a content destination and with their web apps and widgets, they're trying to pull a lot of what people do on their desktops and turn it to time spent online (and in the process take a swipe at Microsoft).
Recently, they've added themes to the homepage. I especially like how for the Tea House theme, the lighting/colors change according the the time of day and weather according to your location. You just enter your zip code and voila! It's a small touch, but it really explores the inevitable sync-up of applications in the future -- off and online. Plus - some of the widgets like calculator, to-do list and weather is really helpful.
Steve Rubel thinks this is an additional revenue stream for the search giant, developing themed homepages for companies... could marketers intrude on our space any more?
My homepage:

Your post inspired me to check out and add to my own personalized homepage in Google. Look what an effect your blog has on people! Ha ha. Also, I need to make use of the Yahoo and Google homepages now, so I can preview my e-mail. My work computer won't let me check my personal e-mail anymore! Boo for censorship!
