Inspiration

It's hard to hold onto the inspiration though. You have to will it, tease it to come out  — you have to grab hold of its throat and strangle it into submission, into something that is domesticated, something that you can draw out at will, something so natural that it ceases to become necessary.

Life is made of the inspired and the uninspired.

What makes you inspired?  Any songs or poems or events or person?  Some songs makes me want to go and write lyrics so honest that God would come down from his extended hibernation and listen. Sometimes reading something so insane, so relatable, makes me want to take off and jump into oblivion, into the piercing sadness of the world and the hopefulness that grapples with each tragic circumstance.

It's hard to hold onto the inspiration though. You have to will it, tease it to come out  — you have to grab hold of its throat and strangle it into submission, into something that is domesticated, something that you can draw out at will, something so natural that it ceases to become necessary.

I found it once.  Been looking for more ever since.  Some things that currently inspire me:

- The Format
- Death Cab for Cutie
Coltrane
- My parents
- Kerouac
Harris Saddle
- My friend Yun
