Photos Bonanza

Heading to Cambodia after a last week in Laos.  I'm hearing horror stories about the roads from the Cambodian border to Angkor Wat, so I may just chicken out and take a flight.

Whew. Finally got a chance to develop some photos in Vientane.  This batch covers my blogs from Yunnan up until Laos so far.  Candids and personals are on private mode for friends & family (so you have to sign up for flickr – it's free).  Yeah, yeah, it's another plug.

No editing on this batch, since I haven't been able to find Photoshop anywhere.

On a sad note, Cartoon Girl has left YuppieNomad and I to go back home. Fun times when she was around... we'll miss her sound bytes and special effect noises tremendously.  She was such a good sport!

As always, thanks for sharing your photography. It takes my breath away and I am always amazed that I get to look at it for free! Earlier today, I went through all of your favorites, too. You have great talent.

For some bizarre reason, for the past few weeks, I haven't been able to see pictures on Flickr or picts uploaded by Flickr. But this morning - it's working again! Will def check out your pics this afternoon...

I need to go take a nap now. I stayed up until 4am watching the World Cup final. Were people crazy about in Laos?

Me? Noises? Pah... Will post pics soon. By the way, I've just heard stories about Cambodian roads that rival the ones we heard about Lao roads x10. The flight may be a good call. Alrighty, adventure on, friends. I miss you guys already!

Thanks arulba! There have been so many great moments on this trip and I'm afraid I can't quite capture them the way they ought to be displayed.. but I appreciate the comments.

Sharon - It's hard to tell how excited the country is about the World Cup when there are only 6 million people in the country.. you don't see the huge gatherings of watchers as you might get in other countries. They do follow it though.. but we heard about the results in Si Phan Don from another traveller... otherwise we wouldn't have known due to the lack to TVs there.

Cartoon - Just found out today that we're on standby for the flights to Siem Reap.. if we don't get it, we have to wait two more days until the next flight out from Laos... typical service as you know, but I'm dreading the potential wait in boring-Pakse.
