Purgatory

Feels like I'm in limbo – not really living in NY any longer but not in any way am on the road yet.

Moved all my possessions to very understanding friends and Adam yesterday.  Had to rent a moving van.  U-Haul is the most outrageously inefficient outfit ever, except for the postal service.

Had to wait in line while an attendant help another attendant work the computer.  How hard is it to enter in a person's name, vehicle number and the time that they want to rent the vehicle?  Had to wait another 45 minutes because they neglected to tell me that I needed either an in-state driver's license or a second form of ID to rent the truck.  Seriously, if renting online is so efficient, they should at least tell you these things before you show up at the brokedick center sucking on your last cig while dealing with incompetent disgruntled employees.

Good thing Kerry dropped by with his passport and served as a reference point for me.

All in all, it was an easy move -- somehow everything worked out and here I am, with nothing in my room except for a few articles of clothing, my camera, and my backpack... all set for next week.

Had a good brunch too, at The Stanton Social.  Dinner was also great – but I'll write more about that later.

Back at work again, after another two hours at U-Haul dropping off the truck.  My morning consists of waiting in line to fill out the release form, realizing that the gas wasn't filled to the right amount, bribing the maintenance guy to get him to write down the correct gas amount, arguing with the counter girl (after she made me wait 30 minutes) about the gas amount cause the maintenance guy wrote it down wrong, driving to get gas so I wouldn't have to pay the $40 fee, and waiting in line again to pay the stupid rental. UHaul can suck it.
