I slept on my side of the bed last night. We have four pillows, two for each. While she was on the QF74 flight to Sydney, I was in perfect fetal position for a dreamless sleep, using one of her pillows as support. Maybe tonight, I'll take all the pillows and stretch out in the middle of the queen.
I took the tram to the Ferry Building for the farmers market this morning. I bought our usuals: eggs, deli cuts and a soy cappuccino from Blue Bottle. I even stuck to our health plan and bypassed Cowgirl Creamery. The place teemed with tourists anyways. If I had squeezed my eyes, it wouldn't feel like she's gone.
I bought a bunch of stuff I had wanted to install, too. Some rechargeable batteries for the stereo present she got before she left, accessories from the Apple Store and light bulbs to replace some that had burnt out. She'll probably think I spent too much money, but that's the thing; I just got the stuff instead of waiting for her figure out the best deals. Just get it done, I say. It did piss me off when I screwed the light bulbs in that they were fluorescent instead of the normal kind. The package said 'day bright'. Packages should really just tell you what the product is instead of making up words. That's marketing for you.
I also got some Jack Daniels and swept the floors. I'll have less to clean up, now. Her hair used to shed all over the place, but I figured with the time I save on sweeping I could do other stuff. Like watch movies! I re-joined Netflix and got a new cable to connect my laptop to the TV, since we don't have a DVD player. I've been meaning to watch more documentaries -- re-jigger some creative juices and all that.
So it was a good day, I think. There are still 9-10 hours left before I go to bed, but was nice just to sit here and listen to music with the volume turned on high.
