There are some days where I’m thinking about the idea so much that I’ve lost sight of the problem. It sucks. Today was one of those days. They don’t tell you how much it sucks sometimes to try and build something - especially when you’re doing it out of love for an idea and not from some business school analysis. On some days, the idea is so clear because the problem I’m trying to solve is so acute, and on other days, it takes every atom in my body to get up and continue to push forward; there are seemingly a million fixes to be had. And articulating the trial and errors, the things that work and the things that need to be solved, is really hard for me, because I see all the possibilities – and what I am learning is to focus on the immediate problems here and now, and not the horizon (too much).
But the good thing is that I’ve been through this before, and almost always, I reboot and when I play with the product, the ‘aha’ moments come back and I’m excited by the potential of it all. I’ve been incredibly humbled in the past few months, and very very amazed whenever I see a product – any product - that sees the light of day and get some tail winds. Because behind every product is someone who probably have gone through really really shitty days.
