Stinker

Sometimes on the road of travels you hit a stinker. Left Cherating Beach for some culture and nightlife in Terranganu, in northeast Malaysia. Outdoor markets, fishing villages, and mosques beckoned. Except that the mosques were.. less than inspiring (surrounded by scaffolding), the ferry to the fishing villages had taken the day off, and the outdoor markets are more like outdoor square blocks of disinterested vendors, hiding from the midday sun. And since it's a conservative Islamic state, nightlife is zilch.

Oh well. Off to Pulau Perehentian tomorrow – arguably 'the most beautiful islands in Malaysia'.
