For us, the metadata can tell the where and when of the photos stories. And we wanted to make it cool! We displayed a satellite map of where the photos were taken. If it was cloudy, we’d show clouds floating by.

My co-founder and I launched a social network for selfies a few weeks ago. We launched it as a satire to a silly trend — or so we thought. The only content (with a few exceptions) are photos of and by yourself.

For 5 months Alaric and I worked to build a product based on our mutual love of photography, storytelling and community. Chasing perfection, we’ve been waiting to ship Imagist until the pieces are in place.

There were some things that I wished I had done differently, had pushed for harder or done more forcefully.

For consumer companies, you have to figure out what your product is and who it’s suppose to appeal to and especially what it does, then I think it’s easier to say that “this should be developed on mobile first” or “that should be developed on the web first”.

With a lack of a better party to go to, I figured I’ll just blather on Tumblr.  And it’s an easy way for me to save unresearched and half-processed thoughts somewhere for future reference.
