Twentysomething

I left Kota Bharu as soon as I got there. Well, not as soon, but like, 6 hours later when the bus for Penang/Pinang left the station. It was just too much.

The past four days were great. It's always great when you know that you're going to come back to a place. Pulau Perhentian are a couple of islands nudging the northeastern coast of Malaysia.

When I was in the jungle, I came across a group of Orang-Asli, indigenous Malays who eke out livings in their tribal ways of life.

Sometimes on the road of travels you hit a stinker. Left Cherating Beach for some culture and nightlife in Terranganu, in northeast Malaysia.

've noticed that people give me a pause, then a strange look, then the answer I'm looking for when I pose a question in small towns.

This time, it wasn't the mosquitoes that woke me. It was heavy footsteps, thudding closer. Two Malaysian men knocked aside my hotel's door, sending a cone of white light towards my eyes.  It was 4:40 am, at the Sakura Inn, Jerantut.
