Three, two, and one...

I've been thinking recently about taking the blog down.  I've blogged in some form or fashion since 1997 – this blog has stuff from 2003 onwards.  But maybe it's because I have nothing else to say, or because the other side of me, the 3D side is taking over and anything I record will be in a little black moleskin.

Or maybe it's the lack of focus – maybe I should revamp the blog around a specific idea, instead of rambling on about whatever is on my mind.  Frankly, I'm getting kind of tired of it.. I mean, I don't really care all that much about weekend updates or the latest nervous twitch about the current eco/politico/geo situation.  When I was traveling it made sense – but maybe I should take it down and revamp it as a place where I only push out articles of a certain stripe.

I mean, today here are my thoughts -- I think they make a good case for shuttling this narcissistic venture.

• Doesn't it strike any dogmatic person curious that mystics of all religions reach the same point of understanding (see Rumi, St. Teresa of Avila, Gautama, et al)
• Does anyone else think it's a travesty that Dwight Howard was not in the Slam Dunk Contest as a finalist?
• Skank (ANS) is dead. Did everyone get that? Now please get your butts up and move slowly away from the cheetos.
• Why is anyone surprised that BS shaved her head? I mean, we all got a view of her shaved nether region.. so I guess she's going for a matched set.
• Look at our biggest media stories: a dead stripper/D-list celebrity, a popped star in rehab (OMG, like for realz?) and a crazy diaper (highlight: d.i.a.p.e.r please) wearing psycho astronaut.  Does this trash get published because the public wants it? Or does the public want it because the trash is there? We should all be ashamed of ourselves. Where are the adults?
• Chips is nothing without salsa. And salsa is nothing without the chips. Werd.

Maybe you just need to talk about what's on your mind. I think a lot of people can relate.

don't think of this as a contribution to society and more as a contribution to yourself. it is a completely narcissistic venture. but who cares. don't take it down because you feel it's become pointless to others. take it down if you become bored of it. be a narcissist. do whatever you want.

but i, for one, will miss your posts if you go away. how else will i be able to keep up with your life?

ink – i think this post is the definition of narcissism. i'm commenting to your notice and approval of my narcissism, and by acknowledging your acknowledgment, i'm furthering a post that is narcissistic in itself, drawing attention to a meaningless rant without really contributing anything except to direct further thoughts into my own self.. how narcissistic is that? oh, wait.

sigh. still. i'd rather crystallize my thoughts more into something productive. see ya soon and GUSTER!
