Warrantless Mail Searches

So Bush has quietly attached a provision to a piece of legislation that allows the executive branch (i.e. him) to open mail without warrants.

It's of course tied to the 'War on Terrorism'.

Freedom, someone has said, has always been taken away in increments.

First it was phone taps. Then it was telecom records. And now this.  Joe Padilla. Gitmo...

1984, Animal Farm, etc.  But hey, if you're not guilty, why should you be worried that the govt is looking at your mail?

Hmmm. I'm thinking of a word that has two syllables and rhymes with sim-teach.
