I haven't blogged recently. Which sucks cause there's so many things going on. But I can't blog because the guys at Bay Computer Repairs can't seem to get their act straight. So I'm calling them out now.  Fix my dammed laptop! It's been two weeks already!

Basically my POS Acer that I bought in Vietnam last year – ok, I shouldn't say that because it's been there for me overseas – died. Simple problem: the power jack needs to be replaced.  First of all, it shouldn't cost 1/3 of my  laptop to fix, but what the hell, these guys are like car mechanics, and there's no other place to fix it and I don't have money to spend on a new laptop. Fine. But what the hell guys, it's two weeks!

I just called them and they said Wednesday. We'll see.

In the meantime, it's not so much fun borrow Candice's laptop, particularly when she has a lot of work and I need to look for jobs. But at least I get to learn my way around a Mac (pretty darn good, I have to say).

Now that Acer has bought Gateway and Dells are really crappy (I won't mention Compaqs/HPs) – I'm losing faith in PCs.

hello, thinkpads?

They're Lenovos. I'll give them a try (I used a Thinkpad while at SelectMinds), but just my experience on a MacBook – really it blows the Windows OS away. I suppose I value user-friendliness (and the Mac is really very friendly) over cost-value and pure power/compatibility with a gazillion software that I don't need or games that I don't play. I hate to say it, but experience is believing.

But then paradoxically, the Apple stuff is way out of my price range, so I'll shuffle along with Acer for now.
