MPAA can suck it

The MPAA strikes again.  I get most of my guitar tabs from http://www.guitartabs.cc.  And guess what? They've had to pull their collection down because the MPAA is using their lawyers to scare the site into submission.

Copyright infringement indeed.  When was it illegal to share your music knowledge with someone... how to share a song?  Will the MPAA send their goons to every home where musicians are sharing music or sharing tips on how to play a song?

Ridiculous.

The Internet is a disruptive technology. We all get it.  It's about adjusting to a technology that spreads information, that puts into widespread distribution what has until now been individual pursuits -- but instead, the fat cats are worried about their pocketbooks and alienating and limiting millions of potential music lovers, buyers, and enthusiasts.

Talk about small minded self preservation vs vast potential for societal good.

Are "they" going to go after recipe sites next? Or carpentry forums? Or screenplays?

Intellectual property does not mean intellectual monopoly.
