Guess she's not making the flight out to New York today, and I'm hoping that Rita is gonna turn northeast due to the high pressure sitting up north. Seems like she's going to try and get to the airport anyways and sleep overnight.

I'm deathly worried for Candice and Mom and Dad in Houston.  The eye is expected to make landfall some time late this week, and reports are showing that the Category 4 is going to get only stronger as it churns through the Gulf.

We're driving down the S. American coast.  Chilean coast, to be exact.  The sea is a gray blue concoction on the right hand side (since we're driving south south south to the tip of this brooding continent) and the slate gray sky is punctuated by burst of yolky yellow sun though the blooming clouds.
