Fortysomething

I’ve always liked giving gifts and thinking about others. It’s just that for the longest time recently, it’s hard to spend time on family things when in the back of my mind, I’m thinking about my paused career or jobs or projects delayed.

It's hard, when I look at my peers on LinkedIn, leading companies, attending Davos, making millions. Social media flattens everyone into a profile, and I can't tear my eyes away from those profiles.

Third graders at her school get lockers for the first time, and it’s very popular for the girls now to trade magnets with friends to decorate their lockers.  We took her fifth output of the panda and made some custom magnets for her and her crew.

It’s a good read. For example, I’m journaling again because it’s a good way to keep a database of my emotions and memories. I’d like to log my progress better this year.

He didn’t respond to my email asking to catch up when I last visited New York earlier this year and I don’t know if we have anything in common any longer. I think maybe we’re both a little relieved that the friendship has now receded into yearbook photos.

I’ve been falling into the embrace of Imogen Heap’s voice.  Her harmonization with the vocoder still sounds futuristic and surreal after all these years.  The audacity to record 5 minute track with just her raw voice is incredible. Innovator. Mad scientist. Creator.
