Twentysomething

Traveling together on the road prevented regular showers.  At times, stumbling out of the trails with our boots wrapped in mud and skin crusted with sweat, we both stank, but that I understood.

The third guy used to say hi to me a lot, but ever since I told him I didn’t have money when he knocked on my door at 11 pm, he hasn’t really been all that friendly.

It’s the communities that are going on in the electronic alleys that I find valuable.  It’s those places where I can catch my breath, unplug from all the information overload, and recharge with real conversations.

At a roadside bar-be-que joint on Route 395. Carson City, Nevada... what once was the wild west is now filled with casinos and strip malls. Lowes, McDonald's, Save-marts and Dillards decorated the highway as a tumbleweed blew past our car. It had just rained when

San Francisco, near the water's edge. What will the year bring? I am hopeful.
