I’m not tired of technology and it’s usefulness.  I’m a bit worn out by the constant talk of widgets, apps, social advertising, market share, social graphs, UGC, who bought who, I was talking to so-and-so and didya know she-used-to-be-part-of-xyz’s?

For me as someone who loves to consume inspirational content, the worth of participation in a creative-weighted community outweighs the size of more content-dispersed communities.

Through machine tags, Dopplr places now have visual girth and Flickr gets more meta data. As more data is added (Zagat reviews, similar visits, etc.), the usefulness grows.

Lots of hoopla about search recently.  Google killer. Smarter search.  Reboot.  Bing. Cuil. It’s the communities that are going on in the electronic alleys that I find valuable.  It’s those places where I can catch my breath, unplug from all the information overload, and recharge with real conversations.
